US Counties Health Ranking Project Additional Measures 2016-2018

$199 / year

The dataset contains US counties level additional measures to those used to calculate counties ranks. The additional measures belong to the following categories: health outcomes, health determinants (healthcare, behavioral and socioeconomic factors) and demographics.

Complexity

Using America’s Health Rankings, University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute provides US health ranking data for nearly every county every year since 2010. The annual Rankings provide a revealing snapshot of how health is influenced by where we live, learn, work, and play. They provide a starting point for change in communities.

The counties and county equivalents for which data were included are the same with the ones used to calculated health ranks. Like for the measures used to calculate health ranks, any entity that has its own FIPS county code was included.

The additional measures belonging to the categories specified in the summary cover the following aspects:

– Health Outcomes
– Premature mortality
– Child mortality
– Infant mortality
– Physical distress
– Mental distress
– Diabetes prevalence
– HIV prevalence
– Behavioral determinants of health
– Food insecurity
– Drug overdose mortality
– Motor vehicle accidents mortality
– Insufficient sleep
– Healthcare
– Uninsured adults
– Uninsured children
– Healthcare costs
– Other primary care providers availability
– Socioeconomic determinants of health
– Disconnected youth
– Income
– Children eligible for free or reduced price lunch
– Residential segregation
– Homicide rate
