This dataset contains data from the World Development Indicators on World View with data on global trends with indicators on population, population density, urbanization, Gross National Income (GNI), and Gross_Domestic_Product (GDP).

Complexity

The World view online datasets present indicators measuring the world’s economy and progress toward improving lives, achieving sustainable development, providing support for vulnerable populations, and reducing gender disparities.

This dataset is a combination of 4 datasets for World View indicators including WV.1 Size of the economy, WV.2 Global goals: ending poverty and improving lives, WV.3 Global goals: promoting sustainability, WV.4 Global goals: strengthening partnership and WV.5 Women and Development. Each dataset comes from different sources:

WV.1 Size of the economy:
(1) United Nations Population Division. World Population Prospects: 2017 Revision. (2) Census reports and other statistical publications from national statistical offices, (3) Eurostat: Demographic Statistics, (4) United Nations Statistical Division. Population and Vital Statistics Reprot (various years), (5) U.S. Census Bureau: International Database, and (6) Secretariat of the Pacific Community: Statistics and Demography Programme, (7) Food and Agriculture Organization and World Bank population estimates and (8) World Bank national accounts data, and OECD National Accounts data files.

WV.2 Global goals: ending poverty and improving lives:
(1) World Bank, Development Research Group. Data are based on primary household survey data obtained from government statistical agencies and World Bank country departments. Data for high-income economies are from the Luxembourg Income Study database, (2) UNICEF, WHO, World Bank: Joint child malnutrition estimates (JME). Aggregation is based on UNICEF, WHO, and the World Bank harmonized dataset (adjusted, comparable data) and methodology, (3) WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, World Bank Group, and the United Nations Population Division. Trends in Maternal Mortality: 1990 to 2015.
