SNOMED CT Full MRCM Domain Reference Set

MRCM (Machine Readable Concept Model) Domain Reference Set enumerates the concept domains to which SNOMED CT attributes may be applied, and provides additional information to support these concept domains. Each concept domain is uniquely identified by a SNOMED CT concept. When the scope of a domain covers the concepts in a particular hierarchy (or subhierarchy), the supertype concept of this hierarchy (or subhierarchy) is used to identify the domain. When a domain is defined based on membership in a reference set, the associated reference set concept is used to identify the domain. In some situations, a query may be required to define a complex domain. In these cases, the query’s expansion reference set (referred to by the ‘referencedComponent’ of the relevant Query reference set) is used to identify the domain.

Complexity

SNOMED CT (SNOMED Clinical Terminology) provides a common language that assists with the electronic exchange of clinical health information. It enables a consistent way of indexing, storing, retrieving, and aggregating clinical data across specialties and sites of care. SNOMED CT Can be mapped to other coding systems, such as ICD-10, which helps facilitate semantic interoperability.

A Full release contains every version of every component that has ever been released prior to or in the specified Edition. This release provides a full historical record and can be used to obtain views of the state of any component at any point in time since its first release.

In addition to 363 new concepts specific for the US, the March 2018 SNOMED CT US Edition also contains all of the content from the January 2018 SNOMED CT International Edition. Approximately 200 requests for terminology additions and updates were submitted via the US Content Request System (US CRS) to support US clinical health information data exchange.
