Description
The Drug Product Database (DPD) captures information on Canadian human, veterinary, disinfectant, and radiopharmaceutical products approved for use by Health Canada. This dataset contains approved, marketed (active), canceled (inactivated), and as of September 1, 2017, dormant products.
The Drug Product Database (DPD) is maintained by Health Canada. Drugs in the DPD can be identified by a Drug Identification Number (DIN). These drugs include drugs for humans and animals, disinfectants, radiopharmaceutical drugs and biological drugs for humans. Biological drugs for animals are regulated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Certain drugs may appear on the DPD 6 months after they are authorized. These include sunscreen, anti-dandruff shampoo and hard surface disinfectants.
