This dataset includes the cases of diseases related to the Centers for Infectious Diseases in California residents. The data is distributed by county, disease, sex and year (starting from 2011) as well as the confidence interval for the calculated rate. During the curation of the original dataset, the population groups (from a location of gender and of an age) for which the number of infection cases was 0, these values have been removed along with the rate value (of 0), lower confidence interval value (of 0) and upper confidence interval. The rates having a coefficient of variation of 0.23 are indicated to be unstable, meaning that conclusions about the rate and/or comparison of the rate to other rates should be made with caution.
The data collect information for cases of amebiasis, cholera, chlamydia, ciguatera fish poisoning, botulism, dengue, diphtheria, E. coli, gonorrhea, hepatitis, HIV, malaria, measles, mumps, leptospirosis, Lyme disease, salmonellosis, tuberculosis among many others.
The datasets used from CHHS Open Data Portal has been modified.
