Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Expenditures And Caseloads

$179 / year

This dataset enlists the monthly listings of households, recipients and expenditures for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Data is from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and the NYC Open Data.

Complexity

On a monthly basis, the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) publishes Temporary and Disability Assistance Statistics, which contains data relating to the operation of OTDA programs. Included in the dataset are values providing caseload statistics regarding the State’s ongoing cash public assistance programs, Family Assistance (FA) and Safety Net Assistance (SNA), and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps. The values provided here contain the data necessary to recreate the SNAP information of Temporary and Disability Assistance Statistics for each month beginning with January of 2002, and continuing to most recently available data. This will allow interested parties to construct trends in cases, recipients and benefits related to this program for each of the State’s 58 Local Social Services Districts (SSDs), New York City and the remaining 57 counties, and statewide totals and regional subtotals.
