Speaking of John Snow Labs – Here’s Our Spring 2021 Event Lineup

We’ve been busy here at John Snow Labs over the last several months. Despite the slow pickup of in-person events in 2021, that hasn’t stopped us on the speaking circuit, and we’ve had some great virtual sessions—both past and upcoming—that are worth mentioning. On the heels of our inaugural Healthcare NLP Summit in April, we wanted to keep the momentum going into the summer, and we’re off to the races.

With sessions from our experts including CTO David Talby, Lead Data Scientist Veysel Kocaman, and Data Scientist Hasham Ul Haq, we’ve covered topics from model governance and personalized healthcare to natural language understanding of text using Spark NLP and real-world evidence to support oncology decisions.

• O’Reilly AI Superstream Series: AI & ML in Production: Real-world lessons from applying natural language processing to personalized healthcare

This session describes some of the first real-world projects that power such applications, extracting clinical facts using Spark NLP for Healthcare – the most widely used, most accurate, and most scalable Healthcare NLP library today – along with lessons learned and promising future directions.

• ODSC East: Using Spark NLP to Enable Real World Evidence and Clinical Support for Oncology

In this demo, we demonstrate how Spark NLP can be leveraged to analyze longitudinal records of cancer patients, enabling oncologists to see patient data clearly and saving thousands of hours for human-level abstraction.

This hands-on deep-dive session uses the open-source Apache Spark NLP library to explore advanced NLP in Python. These case studies cover projects that deployed automated patient risk prediction, automated diagnosis, clinical guidelines, and revenue cycle optimization. It will also cover why and how NLP was used, what deep learning models and libraries were used, and what was achieved.
