Description
Heart disease is based on self-reported responses to questions about whether respondents had ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that they had coronary heart disease, angina (angina pectoris), a heart attack (myocardial infarction), or any other kind of heart disease or heart condition.
Missing family income data were imputed. MSA is the metropolitan statistical area. MSA status is determined using 2000 census data and the 2000 standards for defining MSAs.
All estimates except by education are age-adjusted to the year 2000 standard population using five age groups: 18-44 years, 45-54 years, 55-64 years, 65-74 years, and 75 years and over. Estimates by education are age-adjusted to the year 2000 standard population using five age groups: 25-44, 45-54 years, 55-64 years, 65-74 years, and 75 years and over.

Data Fields
Name | Description | Type | Constraints |
---|---|---|---|
Indicator_id | Unique ID assigned to sampling statistic. A health indicator is a measure of the health of people in a community, such as infant mortality rates, rates of obesity, or incidence of diabetes. | integer | level : Nominalrequired : 1 |
Dimension_List | Dimension covers Age, Sex, RaceEthnicity, IncomeAndPovertyStatus, EducationalAttainment, Geography and Total | string | required : 1 |
Time_Frame | Time frame corresponds to the data years; 2011-2012, 2010-2011 in this case | string | required : 1 |
Percent_Numeric_Value | Percentage of Dimension (in the dimention_list) | number | level : Ratio |
Missing_Value_Flag | Missing value flag, alternatively DSU (Data statistically unreliable) indicates that data do not meet the criteria for statistical reliability, data quality, or confidentiality and therefore data are suppressed. | string | - |
Standard_Error | The standard error (SE) is a measure of the amount the statistic may be expected to differ by chance from the true value of the statistic. The larger the SE, the less sure you can be that if you took a different sample and computed the statistic again, that it would be close to the statistic you computed from the first sample. | number | level : Ratio |
Locale_id | ID assigned to the locality | integer | level : Nominalrequired : 1 |
Locale | Locality of the sample population | string | required : 1 |
Locale_Level | Locality level of the sample population | string | required : 1 |
Locale_County_FIPS_Code | Federal Information Processing Series codes (FIPS codes) are a standardized set of numeric or alphabetic codes issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to ensure uniform identification of geographic entities through all federal government agencies. | integer | level : Nominalrequired : 1 |
